The GME GX710D VHF DSC Fixed Mount Transceiver sits between the GX700 and the GX750 in GME's marine radio range, providing the entry point into Class D Digital Selective Calling for vessels stepping up from a standard VHF set.
The GX710D transmits at 25 watts across all marine VHF channels, switching down to 1 watt for close range or in-harbour use. Class D DSC is paired with an integrated dual-receiver GPS module, so a distress call carries the vessel's position automatically without an external GPS feed or an additional wiring run. The unit monitors channel 70 independently for DSC while remaining available on the working channel, and supports dual watch, triple watch and programmable scan alongside a foghorn function and Man Overboard (MOB) alert.
The front panel carries an IP67 ingress rating, and the large backlit display stays legible in direct sunlight at the helm. NMEA 0183 connectivity handles both incoming GPS data (GGA, GLL, GSV, RMC, VTG, ZDA) and outgoing DSC and AIS position sentences (DSE, AIVDM), so the GX710D integrates with an existing plotter or navigation network without a dedicated GPS antenna.
A double-conversion superheterodyne receiver and 10 watt audio output into a 4 ohm speaker keep transmissions clear over engine and wind noise, while a compass-safe distance of 1.0 m simplifies mounting near steering compasses.
Suited to the dealer or installer after DSC safety compliance without the cost or complexity of stepping up to an AIS-equipped set. An MMSI must be programmed into the unit before DSC will function, so the GX710D suits dealers and installers already set up to handle that step at handover.
Features:
Note: DSC will not function until an MMSI has been programmed into the unit.
