NGK's Standard Plugs are constructed for longer life and optimum performance. This plug has an inductive resistor design for use with capacitive discharge ignition systems that have a much lower voltage output.
This is achieved by utilising a coiled nickel wire inserted into the stem and held in place by a spring. The coil acts as an electromagnet, inducing a magnetic field around the center stem, creating a natural "field" resistor.
This type of resistor creates around 40ohms of physical resistance, compared to the 1000-5000ohms of resistance in typical monolithic resistor plugs.
This spark plug features trivalent metal plating for superior anti-corrosion and anti-seizing properties, as well as corrugated ribs to prevent flashover.
It also includes a pure alumina silicate ceramic insulator to provide superior strength and better heat transfer. Additionally, a copper core aids in heat removal and a triple seal prevents leakage.
