The HyDrive Powerkit-M12 is a 12VDC electric power steering (EPS) system designed to suit any brand or horsepower outboard. Tried and proven for over 10 years on extreme performance boats, it delivers state-of-the-art electro-hydraulic power steering for large horsepower or multiple outboard engine installations.
At the heart of the package is a microprocessor-controlled, load-sensing pump that delivers pressures up to 1000psi to handle the most powerful applications. Unlike servo-type systems on the market, the Powerkit-M12 isn't a servo-system — movement on the wheel is instant and without delay, an absolute must on high speed, high performance vessels. Paired with a 211BH-XT outboard cylinder, the compact PS-M50 helm unit delivers 50cc/rev for very direct steering, with a turns ratio of only 3 turns lock to lock.
Safety is built in: if power to the electronic pump unit is ever lost, the steering helm immediately and automatically converts to a manual hydraulic pump, ensuring full control is maintained at all times.
This is the basic Starter Pack — the PS-M50 helm unit and 12VDC load-sensing pump only. It must be added to one of HyDrive's steering cylinders, and can be fitted to a suitable existing cylinder or to the 211BH-XT outboard cylinder, 210, 216 or 213 bracket-mount cylinders, or any HD Series cylinder. Models are also available for sterndrive and inboard rudder applications.
Ideal for single or dual station installations, single or dual cylinder setups, and for use with autopilots. The helm can be fitted from behind the console at any depth, or on the front of the console.

Note: This is the Starter Pack (helm and pump only) — a compatible HyDrive steering cylinder is required and sold separately. Steering lines must be upgraded to high-pressure flexible hoses, not nylon tubing. Hoses are not included in this kit and can be supplied cut and pre-assembled to suit your size requirements. A 70 amp fuse is required near the battery supply and is not included.
Note: Not recommended for use with 211BH, 411BH or 216FM cylinders, due to high pressure operation under power steering.
